Hydrated Silica

Silica is a trace mineral which form the biggest components of collagen. Collagen is the connective tissue that makes up most of our skin.  Collagen is what gives young skin its firmness. As we age, our body produces less & less collagen. Wrinkles and sagging skin began to appear and the skin loses its youthful vibrant glow. By increasing the collagen levels in our skin, we help slow down the appearance of aging and reverse existing wrinkles.

Silica has been shown to contribute to certain enzyme activities that are necessary for normal collagen formation. Silica is essential for maintaining the health of connective tissues due to its interaction with the formation hyaluronic acid, improving the skin’s hydration.

Magnesium Aspartate

Magnesium is a mineral present in every cell type in every organism and is directly responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions. Magnesium slows down the aging process in the skin because magnesium stabilizes DNA and RNA which are both negatively charged and are attracted to the positively charged magnesium.

Ubiquinone (CoEnzyme Q10)

Ubiquinone or CoQ10 is a potent antioxidant naturally produced by the body and is important to cell functioning and development. As we age, our body produces less and less of CoEnzyme Q10. This affects the energy needed for the cells to function optimally and leads to accelerated degeneration. This aging process shows on the skin. When applied topically, it has been found to assist cells in building collagen and elastin, therefore reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract

Punica Granatum, or Pomegranate, has long been touted for its high levels of Vitamin C and rich antioxidants, which can help prevent cell damage. Several studies have shown its ability to speed wound healing, as well as play a positive role in the repair of sun damaged and aging skin. Pomegranate extracts exert their positive effects by extending the life of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin.

Study also demonstrate the protective effects of Pomegranate Extract against Ultra Violet A- and Ultra Violet B-induced cell damage in topical applications.

Dunaliella Salina (Algae) Extract

Dunaliella salina – a green, single-celled alga – is literally packed full of potent plant chemicals, such as beta-carotene. Beta-carotene possesses powerful anti-cancer properties, helps energize skin and also acts as a free radical scavenger.

More recent studies show that Dunaliella also contains another carotenoid called zeaxanthin, zeaxanthin works with lutein shown improvements in skin hydration, skin elasticity, and concentration of superficial skin lipids. Lipid oxidation, which leads to skin aging, was also decreased.

Camelie Sinensis (Green Tea Extract)

Green Tea extract contains a unique cocktail of powerful antioxidants called catechins, which help fight damage caused by free radicals. Its anti-inflammatory properties in some cases can even neutralize the damage done by exposure to sun. Green tea extract stimulates skin microcirculation and therefore positively influence the tone and health of the skin.

Green tea extract can actually decrease wrinkles and also makes you look younger. Frequent use may possibly slow down skin aging.

Green tea extract may prevent the breaks down of collagen, thereby maintaining a firm and elastic skin. A clinical study shown that the skin had measurably more elastic tissue content after continuous application of a skincare product containing green tea extract.

Aspalathus linearis (Rooibos tea extract)

Because of its high flavonoid content, rooibos is a powerful anti-aging ingredient. Since much of skin aging is caused by exposure to UV rays, pollution, and other environmental contaminants that create free radicals, rooibos’ free-radical-quenching abilities help to protect skin and help to prevent premature ageing. Rooibos extract also contains zinc which is essential to the skin's metabolism and its own natural alpha hydroxy acid smoothes and refines fine lines and wrinkles.

Caprylic Capric Triglyceride  (Coconut oil)

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is derived from coconut oil. It has properties that prevent water loss in skin by forming a thin barrier on the skin’s outermost layer or surface. This helps to moisturize the skin preventing dry skin.

Tocophery Acetate (Vitamin E)

Tocopheryl Acetate is a form of Vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin.

Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants that neutralizes the oxidant effect of free radicals, which are molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.

The body’s squalane levels start declining when we’re in our 20s. Applying nourishing squalane will lubricate your skin’s surface and can help you achieve a softer texture and smoother appearance.

When use frequently, squalane can reduce wrinkles, eliminate scars, reverse UV damage, lighten freckles and erase skin pigmentation while fighting free radicals.

Squalane has antibacterial properties and can be effective in treating the symptoms of eczema.
